For our stay in Singapore we were on a mission to find the perfect location to base ourselves in the city. Somewhere that was central, within walking distance to great shopping and dining options and public transport, and (hopefully) somewhere that could offer us some nice views of the city. When we stumbled upon YOTEL Hotel, just off Orchard Road, it ticked all of the boxes.

YOTEL Singapore - 366 Orchard Road

YOTEL Singapore was designed around a very interesting concept. Inspired by the idea of first class luxury travel, YOTEL offers visitors compact little cabins that are beautifully designed to make you feel like you are in a first class airline pod with everything that you need and nothing that you don't. They definitely take the hefty price tag out of staying in top locations. We were just a couple of steps back from Orchard Road and the vibrant hub of entertainment, shopping and dining that the street offers. We didn't have to walk too far at all to find everything we were looking for. YOTEL is also located only five minutes from Orchard MRT Station, providing easy access to public transport to get you right around the whole city.

We were travelling through Singapore with my sister. Trying to find rooms for three people can often be quite a painful task, but YOTEL had the perfect solution. We checked into a Premium Queen Cabin with Bunk, which offered an overhead bunk above the adjustable queen sized SmartBed, and gave us all plenty of room to spread out and find some space for ourselves. If you're hoping for even more space, you can always upgrade to a First Class Suite which offers an additional living space and balcony.

One of my favourite parts of our cabin was the bathroom. The whole wall looking out across the city was glass, giving you some pretty outstanding views while you're taking a shower or going to the toilet. The bathroom also featured a rain shower and some beautiful Urban Skincare amenities, adding to the hotels luxury feel. Each cabin also came with all the regular creature comfort amenities you might need - robes and slippers, daily complimentary water, a well stocked mini fridge, tea and coffee, and hidden in the walls you could also find an iron and ironing board.

If YOTEL wasn't futuristic enough with it's signature pods, they also have a pair of twin robots to serve you! Yep that's right, these cute little robots are programmed to navigate around the hotel by themselves and make deliveries to multiple cabins in one trip. They can also speak and detect obstacles or people that might get in their way! They spring into action when guests order extra amenities, such as an additional towel or bottle of water, so if you want to meet them why not order something to your room. As well as having their own facial expressions and little voices, these robots can often be spotted singing goodbye to guests who are leaving the hotel, or taking part in birthday celebrations for guests!

If you don't feel like going out for the night - particularly if you've just hopped off a long international flight - there is a fantastic restaurant right in the hotel. Grains & Hops can be found on level 10 of the hotel, and offers a great menu that includes both Western and signature Asian and Singapore dishes, as well as a killer cocktail list. I can highly recommend the Grilled Angus Beef Skewers, along with either a Lime Margarita or the local Singapore Sling. Grains & Hops is also where you can find breakfast in the morning, with a wide variety of choices at the buffet. Level 10 is also home to the pool and gym if you'd like to unwind and have some time to yourself after a busy day of exploring.

I'm sure you don't need any more convincing after all that! If the great location, delicious food and sleek modern rooms aren't enough to convince you, there are even guest serving robots at the hotel dedicated to making your stay more comfortable. Need I say more?! YOTEL Singapore is the first flagship hotel in Asia, after opening sister locations across North America and several European airports.
