Seaford Beach. Only an hour from Melbourne, but feels like a different world.
Seaford is a bay beach that is different to any other I have been to in Melbourne. Whilst it is still technically positioned in Port Phillip Bay, the crystal clear blue waters makes you feel like you've discovered a beautiful, secret part of the ocean.
Such a small beach, it's easily miss-able from the road if you don't know about it. However, if you're looking for a beautiful beach in Melbourne I would definitely recommend it. With a long pier built in the 1920s, and a surf life-saving club with a beautiful modern design, it's easy to forget you are only an hour out of the city.
I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon at Seaford shooting Stevie Swim's current summer campaign, and we had such a great afternoon. The location of the beach provides a bit of privacy - as it's not easily visible from the road there aren't many people there at all, so it was the perfect place for a campaign shoot. Between the beautiful pier, the crystal clear water and the sand dunes protecting you from the road, Seaford really is a unique and picturesque beach in Melbourne.
